Espen Reinertsen

Born 1979, living in Oslo.
As member of the duo Streifenjunko, Espen Reinertsen has worked with modern improvisation and extended playing techniques for the saxophone. This has led to a lot of exciting collaborations, with Christian Wallumrød and Sidsel Endresen's duo Merriwinkle, the Japanese improvisor Tetuzi Akiyama on Akiyama/Taxt/Lønning/Reinertsen, Toshimaru Nakamura, and Norwegian video artist Kjell Bjørgeengen.
Also working as a song writer/composer he is leading his own project, The Espen Reinertsen Organic Jukebox, which received an award for the debut album ”Subaquatic Disco” from Trondheim Jazz Festival in 2007. He has also contributed on numerous projects with Trondheim Jazz Orchestra on commissions by Maria Kannegaard, Eirik Hegdal, Per Zanussi, Kobert, Kim Myhr, Geir Lysne, New York Voices and Vigleik Storaas.

Espen appears on the following SOFA-releases
