Martin Taxt

Martin Taxt has contributed in many different projects during the last years. His main focus has been in the space between improvised and composed music. His sound palette is inspired by the textures you can find in the music of contemporary composers as Helmut Lachenmann, Salvatore Sciarrino, Giacinto Scelsi, John Cage and Morton Feldman, but also he draws attention to sounds from the daily life as; water sounds, heart beats and whistling. He’s been working with many of the most significant musicians on the international impro scene. Among others Tetuzi Akiyama, Toshimaru Nakamura and Rafael Toral. Martin is also active on the international contemporary jazz scene where he has performed with Dave Douglas, Nils Wogram, Stian Carstensen and Mathias Eick to mention a few.

Martin appears on the following SOFA-releases
