Alessandra Rombolá
Coming from an academic background, she moved to contemporary music, collaborating with various composers and performing as a solo and as a chamber music player in Europe.
She specialized in the «extended techniques» of the flute, in the interpretation of graphic scores and free improvisation, with the intent of exploring the contemporary world and developing her own musical language.
Involved in many different projects, she has worked with contemporary music, free improvisation, dance, plastic art, demonstrating great versatility and creative skills both as an interpreter and as an improviser.
In 2001 she co-founded the ensemble MovableDo together with the North American flutist Jane Rigler. Based in Madrid, the group works on performances and collaborations with musicians and artists from all over the world. She works with the trio Muta, with the percussionist Ingar Zach and the harpist Rhodri Davies. Her most recent projects are the duo with the great accordion player Esteban Algora and the trio with the French clarinettist Xavier Charles and the Norwegian guitarist Ivar Grydeland.
