Ingebrigt Håker Flaten (born in Oppdal, Norway -71) is one of Norway’s
most important characters in creative music today.

Flaten lives in Oslo and has worked as a professional musician since 1995. For
years he has been playing in groups like Close Erase, Atomic, The Thing, School
Days, Scorch Trio, The Electrics, Free Fall and in the Norwegian keyboardist/piano
player and electronica-visionary Bugge Wesseltoft’s band.

The last years he has also been playing several solo performances.

IHF has performed with great International artists as Jusef Lateef (US), Chris
Potter (US), Zim Ngqvana (SA), Benoit Delbeq (FRA), Evan Parker (UK), Paul Lytton
(UK), Iain Bellamy (UK), Tony Oxley (UK), Joe McPhee (US), Mats Gustafsson (SE),
Raoul Björkenheim (FIN), Ken Vandermark (US), Dr.L.Subramaniam (IND), Billy
Cobham (US), Jean LucPounty (FRA) and great Norwegian musicians Stian Carstensen,

IHF has released over 40 CD’s, and his creative and highly original
bass playing has been given a high recognition all over where he has performed.
His musical expression is based on the language of jazz and improvised music,
but he is also building his vocabulary on all different music styles.

He has in the age of 31 managed to establish him self as one of the most important
figures of the young generation musicians on the European scene today.

Ingebrigt appears on the following SOFA-releases
