Frode Haltli

Frode Haltli (born 1975) is selected by the Norwegian Concert Institute to be the «Young Soloist of the Year, 2001». Frode Haltli has studied accordion at The Norwegian State Academy of Music and The Royal Danish Concervatory of Music (RDCM). He ended his studies at the RDCM in 2000 and currently lives in Oslo, Norway. He made his official debut concert in Copenhagen in September
2000 with world premiers by Bent Sørensen and Asbjørn Schaathun.

As a soloist he has had the pleasure of playing with several Norwegian orchestras, bands and choirs. He has played in several professional ensembles and orchestras, included the Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra and Oslo Sinfonietta in which he is
a regular member. Frode has played at festivals and concerts on Iceland, in Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Germany, France, the Netherlands, Greece, Slovakia,
Russia, Canada and in the USA. In Norway he has also played a lot for radio and television.

Frode is actively working with chamber music. At present it's the trio POING which occupies much of his time. The trio which includes accordion, saxophone and double-bass performs newly written works by young Nordic composers. Frode
also plays accordion and bass trombone in Trygve Seim Orchestra (ECM). In 2002 he released his solo-CD «Looking on Darkness» on ECM.
